The client wanted an open fire, however due to the age of the property, the chimney lining had decomposed and degraded. We needed to keep the flue to its existing size to prevent smoke entering the room.

The key material during the project was a relining system by Eldfast, inflating a balloon into the chimney, pouring a specialist mixture in from above with a winch, pulling the balloon up and re-coating the chimney interior.

The client was able to achieve the desired large open fire and burn safely.

The installed system can withstand a chimney fire and comes with a 25 year guarantee.
